About Dr Daud Akhtar
Dr. Daud Akhtar is a Double Board Certified US and Canadian(ABIM and FRCPC) interventional gastroenterologist with advanced training in therapeutic endoscopy, including ERCP, Interventional EUS, and third-space endoscopic surgery.
After completing medical school, internal medicine residency and general gastroenterology fellowship training in Canada at the University of British Columbia, he pursued a highly competitive fellowship in advanced endoscopy at the world renowned Stanford University. Furthermore, He underwent training at the National Cancer Centre East in Japan focused on ESD techniques. He specializes in endosonographic and endoscopic interventions/resection techniques.
Known for his calm approach, clear communication, and patient-centred decision making, Dr. Akhtar focuses on ensuring that every patient feels heard, informed, and supported. He believes in combining evidence-based medicine with compassionate care to deliver the best possible outcomes.

For all procedures and appointments you will receive a text notification.
APPOINTMENTS
All procedures occur in the ambulatory care unit at Abbotsford Regional Hospital with a full gastroenterology consultation performed prior to the endoscopic procedure.
All consultations occur virtually over telehealth/phone appointments.

Patients who fail to attend a scheduled appointment barring an emergency will be charged CAN 100$ to have it rebooked.

Currently our referral process requires a referral form to be filled and faxed to 844-333-0198. Please see the form section for this. For us to appopriately triage patients the referral form MUST be completed with the required information. Incomplete referrals may be returned/rejected. If you have an urgent concern, please contact the on call gastroenterologist at your nearest hospital
